Exhibition ‘Dones sense llar, Històries de supervivència’
16 December 2022 11:00 - 30 April 2023 19:00
According to the latest estimates, there are around a hundred women sleeping rough in Barcelona. But being in a situation of homelessness is also synonymous with other scenarios beyond being homeless or living on the street. Moreover, female homelessness is not a natural phenomenon, but is the result of a structural problem and affects more women than we imagine.
In this exhibition by the journalist and photographer Claudia Frontino, you will discover the real stories of women who at one time or another have suffered or are suffering from homelessness, often made invisible. Women who are trying to get ahead despite the economic crisis that has been dragging on since 2008, an unexpected pandemic, increasingly extreme social conditions, and constant episodes of sexist, institutional or administrative violence. Stories of women who are undoubtedly fighters and survivors in a sexist, capitalist and racist system.
Opening: March 29th from 6pm to 7.30pm
The project will be presented and a space will be opened for dialogue on Human Rights, the right to dignified housing, and prevention policies.
