Decolonising digital rights

26 January 2022 18:00 - 19:30

SAVE THE DATE! We will soon confirm dates for a conversation on decolonising digital rights.

Decolonising technology means recognising the axes on which current technology is based and changing them. Technology, as a faithful reflection of our society, pushes us to recognise it in a masculine, white and privileged version. In addition to accepting that any by-product of it is biased.

Technology is one more tool to keep the masses under control and to decolonise is to create innovative solutions. The very effort to decolonise means opening up a spectrum of multiple possibilities in which voices critical of the current state of technology are finally heard. It means empowering collectives and communities, some of them still submerged in the colonising process.

We will soon announce the date for this talk on decolonising digital rights! If you want more information, please send us an email to societat.oberta@opensocietyfoundations.org
