IA and Human Rights: Opportunities Advocacy in the State and the EU

The IA-BCN working group is organising a working session on Wednesday 15th June at 18:30h, open to entities and groups, entitled Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights: Opportunities for advocacy in the State and in Europe, which will take place in the Open Society Space. The session will include the participation of Francesca Bria, expert and advisor on digitalisation and ICT policies, who will explain how Europe’s AI Law is being approached and what opportunities for advocacy are open to organisations. Karlos Castilla, from the Human Rights Institute of Catalonia, will explain his study on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on Human Rights.
After the explanation, there will be a collaborative session to identify the key issues that an advocacy strategy that takes into account the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights should have. Therefore, the results of the Intel·ligència Artificial, Drets Humans i Justícia Global survey. Survey by entities, collectives and grassroots communities and with the return of some of the lessons learned from the DAR Conference: Democracy, Algorithms and Resistance.
